Odd Future To Get Adult Swim Show

Update: The Show will feature Odd Future members  Tyler The Creator,Jasper, Taco and Lionel.

Adult Swim announced today it has picked up the live-action series Loiter Squad, a 15 minute live-action show that features sketches, man on the street segments, pranks and music from Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. The cast, featuring the Los Angeles collective of rappers, artists, and skateboarders, channel their multi-faceted creative talents in this off-the-wall showcase.

This announcement comes on the heels of Tyler, The Creator’s “Best New Artist” win at the 2011 Video Music Awards. Creating their own show comes as a natural next step for Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, whose accomplishments have garnered wide media attention in 2011 and continue to compound on themselves. Tyler, The Creator’s Goblin LP has sold more than 100,000 copies and his Yonkers video has been viewed more than 22 million times. Odd Future is on the verge of their first national tour and the release of their Golf Wang book in November will document their travels and hometown exploits.

Loiter Squad is being produced by Dickhouse Entertainment—the Hollywood production partnership of Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze who have been the creative power behind hits including Jackass, Nitro Circus, Rob & Big, Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, Wild Wonderful Whites of West Virginia, The Birth of Big Air and Wildboyz. The Dickhouse sensibility provides a perfect match for the unique viewpoints, masterful pranking and artistic inclinations of the Odd Future crew. Jeff Tremaine, Shanna Zablow, Dimitry Elyashkevich, and Lance Bangs from Dickhouse Entertainment and Adult Swim’s Nick Weidenfeld will serve as executive producers.

The New Yorker Interviews Earl Sweatshirt from Odd Future

The New Yorker’s Kelefa Sanneh read the full article in the digital edition or the in print magazine. Below is an excerpt from the article where Earl Talks about the Free Earl Campaign.

“Initially I was really pleased that all these people claimed that they wanted me released because I thought that translated into ‘they care,’” Earl wrote. “So time progresses and the fan base gets bigger and the ‘Free Earl’ chants get louder but now with the ‘Free Earl’ chants come a barely indirect ‘Fuck Earl’s Mom’ and in the blink of an eye my worry changes from ‘will there still be this hype when I get back’ to ‘Oh shit I just inspired a widespread movement of people who are dedicated to the downfall of my mom.’”“The only thing I need as of right now is space. I’ve still got work to do and don’t need the additional stress of fearing for my family’s physical well-being. Space means no more ‘Free Earl.’”

Who The Fuck is Earl Sweatshirt?!

Ok so you should of herd about odd Future by now. The internet, blogs, and twitter have been buzzing about the rap group from Cali. #Free Earl has been a multiple  trending topic on twitter. In the video below odd Future’s leader Tyler the Creator claims that Earl at age 17  is a better rapper than Nas was at the same age. Which lead me to think WHO THE FUCK IS EARL? Controversy sells huh? Way to brew it up right?But after i herd the self-titled track Earl, my view of Odd Future changed. Earl is fucking dope as shit, word play light-years ahead of most in his age group. But he aint no NAS!!! Earl who at the moment is away from the group while their gaining an extreme buzz. Was sent to boarding school after his mother got her hands on his debut mixtape.
